Every now and then the perfect song meets the perfect voice and the result is historic. Musical history was made when Mimi Redd was introduced to the song “Order My Steps.”

Mimi Redd came from nowhere to have perhaps the biggest gospel recording by a female artist in 1994. Redd was born in Omaha, Nebraska where her parents, Rev. James and Ruth White were in full time ministry. She has been a singer since the age of five and very active in church choirs. She stepped into the limelight in 1994 when she recorded classically trained composer Glenn Burleigh’s ballad “Order My Steps.” With her piercing high C’s and field-holler wails, Redd gave the song a tour de force performance on the GMWA Women of Worship CD “It’s Our Time.” The song catapulted that CD to peak at No. 3 on Billboard’s gospel album sales chart for 123 weeks--- an astounding feat. The tune was played at school functions, marching band parades, radio stations, and sung during Sunday morning services nationwide. It continues to get considerable airplay at radio stations across the country to this day.

Now after an extended hiatus, Ms. Redd is triumphantly returning to radio with a new Single, "God is Hip," of which she is a co-writer...  Additionally, she is working hard on material for her upcoming, yet to be titled  CD  project...
